Meet Our Girls

Ah, chickens! There are chickens and then there are CHICKENS!

"Our Girls" were hand picked at 3 days old and lived in our house the first 2 months of their lives. Each girl is named and 4 out of 6 come running when we call them by name. They live in a portable cage to keep them on fresh grass.

Our hens get mixed veggies, popcorn and scratch for snacks everyday. Spoiled chickens? I think so! But that's what makes them so personable and loving.

BUFFY, GLORY B, DAD AND LUCY.

MATTY a.k.a. SUNSHINE, with GLORY B.

AJ, SOPHIE, HANNAH, CRICKET and JOHN.

"Our Girls" love popcorn, running around the yard with their petticoats up, and helping us dig holes for planting trees and bushes. Buffy will walk inside the house if we leave the door open. Our Grands love sitting on the porch with a chicken on their lap.

CRICKET, OUR BANTAM SILKIE.

DUST BATHING IN "MOM's" FLOWERS.

Totally off the subject . . . Do you ever look at the lights on vehicles and see eyes? I do! It's become one of my favorite pastimes while we are out driving. Check out this car we saw in a parking lot. This one is easy to see the eyes! And, she's a flirty girl!

"Hey Baby, how 'bout coming over to my place!"

This week we have so enjoyed hanging with "Our Girls". And with our new bees arriving this week, we suddenly have a lot more "Girls" . . . Over at Julie's!!!
